2013 September 3 - Known and Loved by God

The “mystical” teaching of the Bible states that the human being is known and loved by God before he or she knows or loves God. Scripture constantly affirms the primacy of divine revelation over any human search for it and the similar primacy of grace over merit. That is why God’s kingdom grows like the seed in the earth, even though the farmer is asleep. In other words, divine “good will” always precedes the human will, good or bad. (page 29)
