2013 August 14 - Washing Our Souls Clean in the Blood of Christ

When we approach the Sacrament of Penance, let us have great faith in the Divine efficacy of the blood of Jesus. This blood it is which washes our souls clean of their sins at that time, which purifies them, renews their strength and gives them back their beauty. At the moment of absolution, the very blood of Christ is applied to us with His merits – that blood which Our Lord shed for us with incomparable love, those merits which are infinite but which He won at the price of unmeasurable sufferings and ignominies without name. “If you only knew what God is offering!” (page 190)
