2013 August 11 - Fixing Our Eyes on Christ

The spiritual life consists above all in contemplating Christ in order to reproduce in us His state of Son of God and His virtues. Souls who constantly keep their eyes fixed on Christ see, in His light, the things within themselves that are opposed to the flowering of the divine life. They then seek in Jesus the strength to remove the obstacles, in order to please Him; they ask Him to be the support of their weakness, to put within them, and ceaselessly to increase in them, this radical disposition – to which all holiness comes down – of seeking always what is pleasing to His Father.
